Culture and Education

PAMANA has at least three main activities to strengthen and raise awareness of the Filipino culture, history, and language:

  • Cultural performances from our resident groups
  • Filipino American History Month programming in October
  • Educational talks and workshops

Cultural Ambassadors

The following resident groups perform during PAMANA and other community programs to showcase the Filipino culture. Email us at pamana.madison@gmail.com if interested to invite them to perform for your next event.

Filipino American History Month

Every October, PAMANA collaborates with various institutions to offer month-long programming in South Central Wisconsin. Our public exhibits, talks, and hands-on activities aim to increase awareness of how the U.S. and Philippine histories shape each other.

In 2025, PAMANA partnered with the following organizations.

Educational Programs

PAMANA is currently fine-tuning its educational programming to become more regular and structured to address the needs of the Filipino community in South Central Wisconsin. Stay tuned for updates.

So far, PAMANA occasionally invites guests to give presentations related to the Filipino culture, history, and language. In 2025, for example, Dr. Jayson Parba of the University of Hawaii-Manoa gave a talk on how families can incorporate Filipino language learning within their household.
