This volunteering event is Cancelled.  Read the message from Second Harvest

This message is being sent out to contacts that are scheduled to volunteer at Second Harvest Foodbank of Southern Wisconsin over the next three weeks.

First of all, we would like to thank you for your support of our food bank. We truly can’t do what we do without the tremendous support of our community. Although we rely on this support, I am writing to share some information about important steps that we are taking in order to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 or the Coronavirus.

It is important that you know a few things:

We remain committed to our mission to eliminate hunger in the 16-counties we serve in southwestern Wisconsin

We are maintaining business as usual, but we have contingencies in place

We are closely monitoring the situation

The safety and well-being of our participants, partners, volunteers, and staff are our top priority

In an effort to keep our essential staff healthy and ensure that we are able to safely and effectively distribute food during this public health emergency, we are making the difficult decision to cancel all Group Volunteer Shifts through at least April 3, 2020. In addition, we are not currently scheduling any additional volunteer groups prior to April 30.

Please communicate with all members of your group that they should not show up for their scheduled volunteer shift. We appreciate your cooperation with this matter, and we look forward to scheduling a new date for your group in the near future.

Should you have any questions, you can call our front desk at 608-223-9121, or Shaun Thomson, our Human Resources Director, at 608-216-7217.

Sincerely,

Kelly Briggs
Administrative Assistant
